resident. logos courtesy of Kenyon Q. Smith. he is a super creative guy and rips on a bmx. it’s always good to see/hang with/converse with Kenyon, and he did an awesome job on these logos as a favor to resident. hopefully he’ll be submitting some fresh content soon as well. i minimally tweaked the lowercase logo and changed the font of the branches one, so if you hate them, blame me haha. i personally love them. here are some links to his sites where you can check some of his original artwork, which is really good by the way, and some pictures. the photos are from Andrew Broadhead. you should definitely check professional site for some seriously high quality photography, as well as his flickr for bmx, lifestyle, and other work.

dirty, dirty d., Dustin, whatever you call him, you surely know when he is around. i actually met Dustin before i even realized who he was. walk with me.. as Tony would say, i used to drive a nopi ride. the time came to sell it, and one day when i was working out at the pallet mill, this guy wanted to take a look at the car when i was on my break. he shows up, and i’m thinking sucker. for sure this guy will take this off my hands so i can buy another one of something like 8 cars. he takes me for a test drive and puts the car to work. hard. he drove it harder than i’d ever driven it, giving it hell and squealing tires. “won’t be my car” i’m thinking. well, of course i never heard from him about the car, it just wasn’t my luck. few years later at the Statesboro hospital trails, Cory Pratt, wow that name, tells me that he is the same guy from the car deal! (at this point he’s driving the infamous Firebird. just imagine the damage if he had bought that slammed acura)
we have been riding on and off since, off being when dirty would be out a few months with one of his knee injuries (one cause by Cory..possibly initiated by a drunken roommate “whose is bigger” fight between the two of us.jerks haha! and sorry.) Dustin is always a good influence to ride with , because he will push you to try things, which may or may not be in your best interest, but entertaining at least. he just got to get back on the horse again after another knee repair, and built up the sweet ass United you see above. there are so many good stories to mention and they are all swarming around my head, but i’ll end the “jaw-jackin” (thanks dirty’s stepdad) and let you check a few more pics and his Q&A for resident. -maybe someone can submit a Dirty D. story or two soon!

“How bad do you sweat riding while having a skull-crushing hangover? - Cheers, Gregarette
I would say sometimes it works out in my favor, but I’m not recommending it by any means. At times I feel so horrible that I really don’t think life can get any worse and I just go for it. It takes that edge off. As long as I stay away from red wine I’m usually OK. I’ve been pretty mongoed on many occasions while filming or shooting photos—I’m an idiot.” -Stricker
check it.
Tommy Myall has been promoting the Columbia, SC area with some pretty sweet edits lately. i met this dude a while back when we had the ramps in Statesboro, and every time i’ve been around him i’m laughing my ass off. anyone who was at Twilight this year knows! always stoked to see his edits! check others here: http://vimeo.com/user4030256/videos
and Tommy, i’m pretty anxious to see what this is about!!

well as most know, i busted my leg..fractured in 3 places and requiring a few screws/pins/plates. in honor of missing the upcoming amazing fall weather, here are a few photos of me from here and there. most are by Ryan Cason, but the SPOA one is from the legend himself, Kent Pearson.

this is what I got from our trip to Charlotte in between avoiding the rain and eating pizza. was a good trip with some good company, need to do it again soon! riding from Gage, Burden, Scootie, Ryan C., Taylor, Butcher, and me. Mahoney and Levi were also on the trip for a few hours but i got no clips, sorry guys.
all filmed on a Canon t2i with a 50mm 1.8 and 8mm fish. shaky in a lot from not wanting to set up tripod, but whatever! hope you enjoy my boy Tennakey Redd.
resident. edit.
2 sessions at a prefab park in Decatur for the resident. site. was only supposed to be one session and a split edit, but i took a pretty good digger to the ribs midway through the first session, and Scootie only had his sambas, so we came back for another to finish and make it a solo. excuse my expert skating skillzzz. also, i’m pretty bummed at the quality on vimeo, cause it looks so crisp on the computer… maybe download the source if you want, cause can only upload one HD vid a week since not premium anymore….
day dos in Charlotte. wetnessss, but we prevailed as we usually do and rode/partied through it. some clips definitely got clipp’d.
had a good ride up to Charlotte thanks to Rod Stewart and Starbucks. these are some pics from the first day/night crusin Charlotte. everyone seemed to have a pretty good time. riding, pizza, brews, talkin trash, wild cabbies.. hopefully a fun little edit will come of the trip.. check in for another update if you care tomorrow!
be on the look out for a new resident. exclusive edit and some updates from the upcoming Charlotte trip in the next few days!
So I recently facebook chatted with Tim (Chaz) about the aftermath of his birthday story (which can be read in this blog). Here’s what has come of it! Enjoy.

Johnny Devlin, resident. of Atlanta, needs no introduction, however i’ll describe him form my perspective. i knew he we a killer on a bike from the wild things i’ve seen in videos, but what i didn’t know was he may in fact be the nicest guy in bmx. from what i’ve picked up on from a few random sessions in Atlanta, Johnny is super respectful to everyone… riders, onlookers, passer-bys…whoever… it’s a real pleasure to hang out with and watch Johnny ride. he absolutely kills whatever he rides, even if he is just jibbin around. these photos came from a typical session in Atlanta on Aug. 30. not saying the photos are good by any means, but this setup was pretty damn tricky, and he made it look super easy. thanks for being down to have the photos on resident.!
67 degrees!
early 8 a.m. session with Noah today to dial in that new ride below. we both took a digger….mine an over the bar nose wheelie and his landing a little flat on the rounded hip by the clam shell. it didnt help him much that his bars slipped all the way to Chicago haha. sooo glad fall weather is on the way in!
bike checkin.
Noah’s new rig.. pretty sweet Mutiny Animist build with some Stranger bars, S&M race stem, Mutiny forks, Odyssey cranks, Profile rear/Gsport front hubs, Gsport wheels, Cult sprocket, and the other normal parts.
the photos are from a few days back on my bike, but should get some new ones up sometime soon!
